HAMBLY, Jean

Born in Rimbey Alberta on May 4, 1930. The eldest daughter of Ellery and Elsie Lindsay. Jean left us May 10, 2009 at the age of 79 years at the Abbotsford Hospital. Jean was predeceased by her brother Cecil in July 2001. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Reg, sons: Jim (Allyson), Howard (Maureen), Mike (Carrie), Rob (Alison). Grandchildren: Kristal, Laura (Dwayne), Melissa (Tyler), and Sara. Great-grandchildren Khristine and Mikaela. Also lovingly remembered by her brother Charles and sister Norma (Len). Jean's hobbies included antique collecting, painting, and many crafts. Many hours were spent watching curling; supporting her family at the rink. A farmer's wife, she raised four boys (and her husband!) on the prairie from 1955-1966. The family moved to the Fraser Valley in 1966 continuing with the farm. Jean also became a realtor and finished raising her family here. Very proud of her four boys and their families, she'll be missed more than can be said. Jean would often say "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine, just go." At the end of her life here on earth, she didn't want to burden us with her troubles, she was independent, and strong willed until the end. We will be remembering her in a Celebration of Life ceremony on May 22, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Abbotsford Curling Club.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to either the Abbotsford Regional Hospital Foundation Kidney Care Clinic at 32900 Marshall Rd, Abbotsford, BC V2S 0C2 or The BC Lung Association.

"My family was my life and I'm proud of them all" Jean
