Jean Brooker (Durham), a 25 year resident of Keremeos, passed away at her home at Orchard Haven in Keremeos on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Jean was born on March 16, 1930 at Marco, Manitoba. She was one of 16 children born to her parents Harry and Pearl Radlinski. Sadly, only three of her siblings remain, two sisters; Mary Charlton and Lily Derlego, and brother Steve Radlinski. She will be lovingly missed by her 2 daughters; Audry and Barbara Durham, 3 grandchildren; Paula and Gene Lochrie, and Dayton Veres, 4 great-grandchildren; Haden and Chloe Carlson, and Emma and Jacob Lochrie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jean has been predeceased by her parents, 12 siblings, her first husband, Clement Durham, and second husband, Arthur Brooker, in 2002. Jean was a remarkable woman. She was one of the first women ever employed in a sawmill. Jean will also be fondly remembered by all who knew her, for her incredible love and talent for music. Jean was laid to rest in the Keremeos Cemetery on December 31, beside her late husband Art. A Celebration of Life - Reception, followed at the Keremeos Seniors Recreation Centre.
