JANE (BARBARA) SWAN

March 4, 2004

Swan - Jane (Barbara) passed away peacefully March 4 at Royal Columbian Hospital after a valiant five-month fight with Scleroderma. Born in Revelstoke, B.C. on August 19, 1937.

Jane is survived by Gerry, her loving husband of 40 years, children Jennifer Rogers & Jason Swan, son-in-law Shayne, grandson Ethan, brother Michael Tomlinson and sister-in-law Shirley.

Jane will be remembered by her family and many friends as a loving mother and wife, a highly regarded community worker, volunteer administrator and leader in the City of Abbotsford and for her contributions to the sport of track and field of B.C. and Canada. Some of her accomplishents and awards are as follows: Freeman, City of Abbotsford, Member of the B. C Athletics Hall of Fame, former President of B.C. Athletics, former President of Abbotsford Secondary School Aluni Association, former President University Women's Club, Director Pacific Sport Fraser Valley, Sports Chair 1995 Western Canda Games, Achillis Internationl Board Member and Executive Manager, Valley Royals Track Club.

Special thanks in particular are extended to the medical staff in the kidney dialysis ward at RCH who did their utmost to make her comfortable, to Lynn Downes who attended to Jane each and every morning and to Charlotte, April and other friends for their care and attention to Jane.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jane's life will be held at the Abbotsford Arts Centre (attached to Abbotsford Secondary School) on Friday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers we would ask that donations be made to the Scleroderma Association of B.c., c/o Box 218, Delta Main, B.C. V4K 3N7
