RUSCH; James John (Jim)
We shared our love, we said our goodbyes and Dad left us on Christmas Day. Jim was 78 years old when he passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Dad was born James John Rusch on October 11, 1937 in Wadena, Saskatchewan. He was the 5th of 6 children born to John and Irene (Bowman) Rusch. He met his love, Flora at Sylvan Lake and they were married on November 24, 1956. Dad enjoyed a career in the Canadian Armed Forces for 21 years. After retiring in Ontario in June 1975, Dad moved his family west and settled in Mission, BC. He raised his family while working at his own RV repair business known as Jim’s RV Center in Abbotsford and later J & J RV Repairs in Mission. It was easy for Dad to make friends and through the years he gathered many a friend along the way. He was always up for a good laugh, a quick trip to Reno and a great meal.
Preceded in death by his wife, Flora in January 2012 and left saddened by this loss are his children, Debbie (Ken) McDonald, North Bay, Ontario, Leslie (David) Sagert, Abbotsford, Sandy Penner, Mission and John (Flori) Rusch, Lumby, BC, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his sister Pearl Turner in Prince George and many friends.
There will be no funeral but instead, at Dad’s request, a Memorial “Party” will be held on Saturday, January 9th at 1:00 pm at The Clayburn Schoolhouse, 4315 Wright Street in central Clayburn Village, Abbotsford.
Come to remember Jim in bright colours. This is, after all, a Party!
