ASHCROFT

James Robert (Bob) Ashcroft passed away at MSA hospital in Abbotsford B.C. on July 21, 2008 at the age of 57. He was pre-deceased by his parents Jim & Emma Ashcroft in 2000. Bob was a loving brother and friend and will be missed by his sisters Doreen (Lawrie) Elliott and Jean (Rick) McCarthy; special friend Norma Thompson; nieces Rebecca (Don) Sagert, Susan (Mark) Friesen, Kathleen (Dave) Manuel, Saraah Shea, Meaghan Dick and Carley Parks; nephews Jeremy McCarthy, Joel (Michelle) Elliott and James (Jen) Elliott and many dear friends.

Bob was born in Vancouver, B.C. and spent most of his childhood in Burnaby, B.C. After a year at UBC he worked as a waiter on the CPR trains. He lived in London for 7 years typing manuscripts and travelling throughout Europe, then moved back to Abbotsford and was employed at the MSA hospital.

Bob had a special way of showing his love and care by written correspondence, and we will miss his many special letters and cards. Bob will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his infectious laugh and the courage and positive attitude he displayed during his lengthy illness.

A memorial service will be held at Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Rd., Abbotsford at 2:00 p.m. on August 12, 2008 with Pastor David Woodland officiating.

Our special thanks to Dr. Barry Friesen & the staff at the Abbotsford Dialysis Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the BC Kidney Foundation
