1915 - 2003
Born Jan. 20, 1915 in Portavogie, County Down, Ireland. Passed away peacefully on May 5, 2003 at the MSA Hospital.
Survived by his loving wife for the past 17 years Kathleen Murray. Son James Patrick (Sharon) Murray of Westbank. Daughters Gail (Connie) Bouchard of Vernon, and Rose (Paul) Bouchard of Lumby. Grandchildren Cherie and Michelle Murray, Debbie Preston and Darren Buchard, Teresa Baker and Pam Bouchard and Great Grandchildren Riley, Jessie and Conor. Sisters living in Vancouver Agnes (Steve) Beleski, Jane (Jimmy) Pullar.
Step family sons Daryl (Linda) Kirton of Abbotsford and Dean (Jean) Kirton of Vernon. Grandchildren Darren, Denise, Christa and Shawn. Great Grandchildren Danielle, Roy and Conor. Numerous nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by father and mother John and Mary Jane Murray, wife Jessie, brother Patrick, sister Bella Hewer and grandson Robert Bouchard.
James was a War Veteran, and worked as a Maintenance Engineer in St.Pauls Hospital for 25 years.
Jim moved to Abbotsford in 1981 making his home in Evergreen Village. He joined the Abbotsford Square Dance club and enjoyed travelling and music. The support and comfort of our family and friends is deeply appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Heffner, the homecare staff and the nurses on 3W at the MSA Hospital.
Dad's love shall be with us forever.
Funeral Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Lehman United Church, 6256 Mt. Lehman Rd., with Rev. Ben Taylor officiating.
