McDONALD, James Raymond

May 13, 1923 – July 19, 2010

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the tragic passing of Jim. Predeceased by grandson Russell Beharrell and daughter Barbara Beharrell. Survived by wife of 66 years Annie, son Murray (Jeanette), son Stuart (Colleen), grandchildren Jo-Anne (Pat), Katherine, Ken (Bobbi), Brianne, Colin, great grandchildren Sydney, Avery, Madison and Taylor, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.

Jim was born to a pioneer family of 14 children in Mt. Lehman. He worked for 30 years as independent contractor hauling milk for FVMP and drove school bus for 17 years for the Abbotsford School District 34. Jim was an Alderman for Matsqui municipality for 12 years and was named Freeman of Matsqui. Jim was involved in soccer and softball with the Mt. Lehman Athletic Association and played for both the Mt. Lehman United and Bradner Redshirts soccer teams. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed today and every day, but in our hearts you will always stay.

No service by request. Memorial tea for family and friends will be held at the family home on Sunday August 22, 2010 from 2 to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
