James Leonard HOOD

October 14, 2007

Jan. 31, 1923 - Oct. 14, 2007

Passed away peacefully in hospital at the age of 84. Jim was born in Vancouver and was a proud British Columbian. During WWII he served in the Canadian armed forces overseas, where he met his English bride, Edna. They raised their family in homes in Worsley, England, Vancouver, Kitimat, and Surrey. In later years, Jim and Edna lived in Parksville and Abbotsford. A cabinet maker and former building inspector, Jim was a talented, good-humoured man and a sometimes poet. He was a great husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather and a friend to many. He will be missed by all.

Survived by wife Edna, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren: Terry and Barbara (Geoffrey, Avril and Laura), Dave and Judy (Katie and Lia) and Gary and Bev (Sean, Kirsten and Ian). Also survived by sister Bernice and bother-in-law Ralph.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 12 noon Sunday, October 28 at Ellwood Estates, 31406 Upper Maclure Road, Abbotsford, B.C. (please park on road outside gates). In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
