Jakob, 79 years old, of Abbotsford, BC passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 21, 2013 in Abbotsford Regional Hospital ICU. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Maria, children: Mary-Anne (Dan), Rob (Kim), Ruth (Al) and 10 adoring grandchildren. He is survived by his 2 brothers, 2 sisters and their families. Burial will take place Saturday, January 26th at 1:00 pm at the Mennonite Cemetery, 33965 MacLure Rd. followed by a celebration of Jakob's life at 2:30 pm at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church (2041 Windsor St. Abbotsford, BC). Husband / Dad / Opa will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be submitted to the Fraser Valley Gleaners, where he so diligently served (www.fvgleaners.org). The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the good samaritans and first responders at the accident scene, after his heart attack, as well as all the doctors, nurses and ICU staff who so compassionately cared and prayed for Jakob in his last two weeks.
