Jakob, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2006 at the age of 81 years. Jake is lovingly survived by his wife Mary; daughters: Betty-Anne Friesen and Heidi (George) Schwenck; granddaughter Jeanne; foster son Dennis (Roberta) Clarke and family; brothers and sisters George (Gredel) Friesen of Abbotsford, Hans (Tina) Friesen, Peter Friesen and Lena Esau all of Paraguay and numerous nieces, Ânephews and extended family. Jake enjoyed writing poems and stories, volunteering with MCC and the cancer centre and was especially fond of visiting with family and friends.
There will be a visitation for the late Jakob Friesen on Thursday, December 21, 2006 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd. Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 10:30 am from Maclure Rd. Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 noon from Eben-Ezer Mennonite Churc, 2051 Windsor St. Memorial tributes may be made in Jake’s name to MCC.
