HAMM Jake R. Jake R. Hamm of Summerland, BC passed away peacefully on May 4, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Jake was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2006. He is lovingly remembered by his children Ron Hamm (Pat) of Dawson Creek, BC and Janet Hays (Allan) of Summerland, BC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Carmen Brown, Suzanne Scot, Brian Hamm, Michelle Simpson, Brad Hamm, Heather Hays, Shannon Hays and 8 great grandchildren Shaelyn Hays, Megan Simpson, Braedy Hays, Carter Scot, Alex Hamm, Kaitlyn Simpson, Everett Allan Sealock, Dylan W. Scott. He will also be remembered by his brothers Alfred Hamm (Bev) of Okanagan Falls, Ed Hamm (Sharon) and Hank Hamm (Barb) of Abbotsford, BC and Pete Hamm (Kathy) of Surrey, BC; sisters Anne (Frank) Epp and Hilda Froese (Pete) of Abbotsford, BC. Jake was a farmer most of his life. He had a dairy farm, a raspberry farm and then a grain farm in the Peace River area, but lived most of his life in Abbotsford. People called him 'J.R.' Family was everything to him. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Rosedale Memorial Chapel, 13205 Rosedale Ave. in Summerland, BC with Pastor Rick Gay officiating. Interment will follow in the Canyon View Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation.
