Jacob Rempel passed away into the presence of his Lord, Monday April 7, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 16, 1926 in Winkler, MB to Dietrich & Mary Rempel. The family moved to Mission in 1944 where he resided until his death. Jake was employed as an electrician. Beginning his career with Fenn Electric then with Mission City Electric until his retirement in 1994. Once retired he enjoyed working with Mennonite Disaster Service helping communities rebuild. This opportunity offered him a new experience of traveling to Alaska, Alabama, California, Puerto Rico, Barrier BC, and many local towns.

Dad & mom also enjoying many camping trips together.

Jake will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Edna. Their 4 children Gerald (Carol), Wayne (Hazel), Lori (James) Goulding, Maxine (Arlyn) Eash; 13 grandchildren & their spouses; 4 great grandchildren; brother Dick (Mary) of Hesston, Kansas; sister Mary Harms of Grande Prairie, AB; many nieces and nephews

Celebration of Jake's life will be held Tuesday April 15, 2008 at 2 pm at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Avenue, Mission with Pastors Dan Rempel and Doug Pankratz officiating.
