Jacob Olfert passed away in the loving care of his family at his residence in Sicamous, B.C. on Friday evening, April 2, 2004 at the age of 72 years.
The Funeral Service was held from the Sicamous Bible Church on Tuesday afternoon, April 6th at 1 p.m. with Pastor Michael Bentley officiating.
Born in Gnadenthal, Manitoba on May 11, 1931. Jake retired from teaching and a family business in Abbotsford, moving to Sicamous in 1992.
He leaves his loving family, wife Gaye; two sons, Karl (Sherry) of Abbotsford, Kevin of Courtice, Ontario, 4 grandchildren, Loran, Erik, Jullian, Tefanna; his father, Abram (who will be 100 years of age in June), brothrs and sisters, Hilda Redekop, Abram Olfert, Heidi Olfert all of Abbotsford, Henry Olfert of Los Angeles, Helga Stobbe of Chilliwack.
