Jacob John Martens

Jake John Martens passed away on February 13, 2020 at the age of 85 years old. Jake was born April 24, 1934 in La Glace, Alberta and graduated from Chilliwack High School. On October 5, 1956 he married his wife, Rosella Willms.
Jake was a committed, diligent, hard-working man, serving as manager of Mc & Mc in Chilliwack and Abbotsford. He managed the Abbotsford Growers Co-op for 30 years where "prices are solid when Jake's at the helm." Jake was a man who loved traveling, golfing, hunting and fishing.
He will be remembered as a leader in business, a good boss and a true friend. He was faithful and loyal to his family and a genuine follower of Jesus. In his own way he often sought to make life better for those around him through practical help and great generosity.
He is survived by his wife Rosella, their three children, Larry (Sandra), Sharon (Ted Wiebe) and Ron (Annet), 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his brother George (Elenore).
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 24th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. A Celebration of Jake's Life will be held on Tuesday, February 25th at 1:30 pm at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Road, Abbotsford. The family would like to thank the medical staff in emergency Zone 1, Baker 3 and Cheam 2 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their compassionate care in Jake's last days.
