Oct 21, 1920 - Jan 24, 2018
Jack Wilmot Friesen left this world to rejoin his beloved wife on January 24, 2018, two months after she passed away. They had been married for 72 years.

Jack was born October 21, 1920, in Hague, Saskatchewan, to John C. and Catherina Friesen, who owned the general store in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. Jack loved business, and we called him the 'Jack of all trades'. He also loved to travel, visiting almost 50 countries.

Jack's greater passion, however, was 'bragging about Jesus,' which included distributing Bibles as a Gideon for 60 years, taking a family group of nine on two trips to Russia and Siberia, and going to Ukraine about ten times with Church Partnership Evangelism (now DMI). This passion began when he was in alternative service during World War II. He was walking in the dark towards the laundry room and stumbled over some friends who were quietly praying, and he decided that 'those guys have something I do not have, and I want what they have'.

Jack and his family went through difficult times seeking treatment for their son Timothy who developed schizophrenia at the age of 17.

Jack is survived by two brothers; his four children: Lane, Bonnie, Timothy, and Lorin; six grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

We miss both mom and dad but we know that they are now together in a better place.

The memorial service will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at Bakerview MB Church at 2 PM.
