Jack Wright Kearns late of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on Friday, April 2, 2004 at the age of 86 years. He is survived by son Ryck (Nick) Kearns; grandchildren Christopher and Rianna of Kentucky; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Loreen McGilvery and Dorothy (Ken) Foot; brothers Douglas Kearns, and Fred (Shirley) Kearns; grandchildren Christopher and Breanne; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jack was predeceased by his son Lorne, October 2003; wife Dolly, January 1996; and his first wife Flo, September 1959 (mother of Lorne and Ryck). Jack was born in Maple Creek, SK on May 13, 1918. He took over his fathers’s business and later started Kearns Transport with his brothers, Doug and Fred. He sold out to Tri-Mac and moved to B.C. He spent the last 4 years at Hallmark and will be missed by the residents and staff. A bit of sunshine will be missing from the halls of Hallmark. Jack passed away peacefully at MSA Hospital after a brief illness.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kuhn and the nurses on the 3rd floor for their care and kindness.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. from Matsqui Lutheran Church, 5781 Riverside St., Abbotsford. Rev.Bob Byhre officiating. Interment to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.
