Jack Frederick DAVIDSON

DAVIDSON, Jack Frederick (Senior)

Passed away peacefully on March 30th at the age of 91. He was born in Findlater, Saskatchewan on August 28th, 1917. He grew up in the Vancouver area attending Lord Bing High School, and spent his spare time delivering groceries and paling around with his good friend Harold Hunt. To serve his great country at the beginning of World War II, Jack joined the Navy obtaining the rank of Petty Officer. He returned home to marry Shirley Anne Black and together they built a home and raised a family in Mission B.C.. Jack operated a cedar shake and shingle mill in Silverdale and was respected as a leader in the industry. He was dedicated to his wife and family, and always worked hard to serve his community. Jack was very proud of his involvement with the Mission Rotary Club, his many years of perfect attendance and the Paul Harris Fellowship the Club bestowed on him (he was known to keep the four-way-test close to guide him). In his retired years, he re-married and enjoyed new friends and crab fishing in Point Roberts, Washington. Jack was predeceased by his first wife Shirley, his second wife Irene, his four brothers Harold, George, Ken and Walter and his sister Eileen. He is survived by two sisters

Marion and Kathryn.

Dad/Grandpa-D will be missed by his daughters Elizabeth and Marion (Murray Olson), his son Jack (Marilyn), his grandchildren Spencer (Jacquelyn), George, Emily (Steve Clarke), Owen and great-grandson Charlie Jack and grand daughter Frankie Marie. Jack Sr. was a remarkable man- a gentleman in every sense of the word who taught us all the true value of family and friends. Jack was lovingly cared for by the special people at George Derby Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the George Derby Centre would be appreciated. A party (wake) to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 25th. For details, please contact Elizabeth, Jack or Marion.
