Isabel Simpson

It is with deep sadness and breaking hearts that we announce the passing of the most amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Isabel Simpson passed on August 16th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Pre-deceased by her husband Merlin, she is survived by her children Linda and Brent, grandchildren Natasha and Kyle (Brandee) and great-granddaughter Alice.
Isabel was born and raised in Calgary. As a child, she loved ice skating, tobogganing, and fishing with her father. She spent summer vacations at Gull Lake with family and friends. Once old enough to work, she had a part time job at the 'Metropolitan 5 and Dime'. After high school, she started working at the'Bank of Montreal'. She married Merlin Simpson in 1959 and continued working until Linda was born. Once Linda was 6 months old, she returned to work - this time at the 'Royal Bank' where she remained working until Brent was born in 1963. She was a stay-at-home mom until Brent started school, again returning to work in the banking industry. In 1974 the family moved to Clearbrook (Abbotsford) B.C. In 1975 Isabel started working for the 'B.C. Telephone Company as an operator until her retirement in 1996. She remained living in the same house for 47 years until her death.
Isabel will be remembered as an avid gardener, voracious reader, animal lover, and a kind and selfless person. She is dearly loved and deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a Tea Service for Isabel on Friday August 26th, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home 34537 Marshall Road Abbotsford B.C.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Elizabeth's Wildlife Center Abbotsford B.C.
