January 2, 1960 – February 16, 2023
Irene passed away peacefully on February 16, 2023, with her husband by her side holding her hand. She was born in Chilliwack on January 2nd, 1960, to Casey and Jo Haan.
She ferociously fought cancer to the end and is now with her father and brother (Dan Haan) in heaven.
She is survived by her mother Jo Haan, husband Ron Walberg, and her 4 sons, Brenton (Paula), Travis (Lisa), Shawn (Holly), and Justin (Kelly).
Irene also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Dominic, Tyson, Haley, Logan, Madeline, Maxwell, Nathan, Amelia, Clara, and Violet.
Irene was an active member in her church, enjoyed her care groups, quilting groups, and entertaining family and friends at Cultus Lake. She passionately enjoyed gardening, puzzling, and shopping for gifts for all her grandchildren.
She will be missed by all, and wanted everyone to know that she had a really good life and got to do everything she wanted to do.
Irene’s memorial will be on Friday February 24th, at 1pm, at Northview Community Church in Abbotsford.
The service is open to all and will be held in Center Court. Reception to follow the service.
