Irene Kennedy

April 1, 1929 - August 26, 2017

Beloved wife, mum, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Mum touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. With her son and daughter at her side, Mum passed away peacefully knowing that she was loved and going to be reunited with her hubby Al, the love of her life for 65 years. Mum was born in Vermillion, Alberta and grew up in a little, unpainted, wooden house 25 miles from town. Following a family move to the Lower Mainland she was reacquainted with the dashing prairie boy Al Kennedy and he danced his way into her heart. Together they shared a wonderful life of travels, fishing, dancing and enjoying the love of family and friends. Mum fought a brave fight against cancer and remained cheerful and optimistic right to the end, amazing everyone with her zest for life. We thank family and friends for their many visits and well wishes - Mum was truly loved and will be dearly missed. Our heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers of Holmberg House Hospice who provided Mum and our family with such loving care and support during Mum’s last month. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to consider a donation to the Abbotsford Hospice Society or a charity of your choice. We will celebrate Mum’s life on Friday, October 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the activity hall at Pioneer Park. (27111 – 0 Avenue, Aldergrove).
