February 28, 1940 - February 7, 2021
At 1:27 in morning, one of the brightest lights faded from this life and now shines forever in the next. Thanks to our gracious and merciful Lord Jesus, after living in long-term care and nearly a year without physical contact from her family, Irene was able to spend her last 16 hours with her son Wayne and daughter Joanne at her side - holding and loving her right through to her last breath.
Born in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, Irene was the youngest daughter of twelve children to Elzear Fiola and Victorine Kirouac. Irene moved to BC in 1966, and it was in the rustic setting of Ruskin where she chose to raise her four beloved children.
Among many selfless acts of compassion and astounding accomplishments that are too numerous to mention here, Irene volunteered throughout the Mission community, including visiting and comforting patients and their families at Mission Memorial Hospital and Hospice as a volunteer Chaplain. Throughout her life, she gave relentlessly of her time to many organizations and of her love to anyone in need.
Irene is Matriarch and Mother to her surviving three daughters; Monique; Debbie (George); Joanne (Myrna); and her son, Wayne. She is grandmother to Jody, Nayshan, Teresa, Karo, and Amanda and great grandmother to Isabelle, Ariaunna, Kaslynd, Sawyer, and Lovelynd.

We Love you Mom and Grandma!
Have a Happy Birthday in Heaven . . .
You were the absolute best!
Irene's private interment, memorial, and prayer will be held on her 81st birthday, February 28, 2021.
