Ian Moore

July 29, 2020

July 29, 2020
We sadly mourn the sudden passing of Ian Moore on July 29, 2020, in his 71st year.
Ian was born in Wales, and although he became a proud Canadian, he always treasured his Welsh heritage.
Ian loved helping people, and spent over 20 years working in the Outreach Department of the Fraser Valley Regional Library. He was a gentle soul, who loved playing the piano and guitar, listening to music, fishing, puttering and visiting with friends. He also took great pleasure in mercilessly teasing family, friends and co-workers. He had a great sense of humour.
Ian was diagnosed with cancer one year after his retirement. Even so, he managed to continue with his hobbies, volunteer with the CNIB and Community Garden, attend concerts and coffee shops with his good friend Hemme, and enjoy his family, which he dearly loved, especially his precious children and grandchild.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Joyce, his Aunt Ursula and his cousin Helen. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 38 years, Nancy, his children; Andrea (Chad), Darren (Gilda), his delightful granddaughter Gwyneth, his cousin Janet, extended family in Canada and Wales, any many wonderful friends.
We are grateful for the kind, compassionate care given to Ian over the years by Dr. Donald Ross, Dr. Clifford Moodley, Dr. Asif Shaikh and the Abbotsford Cancer Centre chemo room nurses. Special thanks to the Abbotsford paramedics and police constables who attended.
There will be no formal service at Ian's request. If you wish to remember Ian, enjoy a pint in a pub with a friend.
