JAKUBKE, HORST HANS PAUL
With great sadness we announce the passing of Horst Jakubke on November 7th, aged 83, peacefully at home. He leaves behind his loving wife Hilda, son Norbert, (Ilona), adored grand- children Maxine and Taylor, and sister Irmgard and nephew Hartmund in Germany. Born in Berlin, he immigr- ated with his family to Vancouver in 1956 working as an Engineer at BC Tel until his retirement. He was a renowned miniaturist, avid filmmaker and Mac computer fan. He and Hilda traveled widely, often by ocean cruise and spent many winters in Hawaii. He was also active in the Tyrol Ski Club, loved to ballroom dance and play bridge. He and Hilda moved from Richmond to Abbotsford in 1989. He was a dear friend to many and gave a lot of his time to the community. His family greatly appreciates the support and kindness of all who helped them through his illness. A Celebration of Horst's life will be held at the Cedar Springs Clubhouse, 4001 Old Clayburn Rd. Abbotsford on Nov. 22 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the BC Cancer Society in Horst's name would be appreciated.
