HORACE DABNER

May 9, 2003

Horace Christy Dabner born March 20, 1907 - died May 9, 2003. Horace has gone to join his wife Alma, his sister Ellen and brother Charles. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Diane Robinson, son-in-law Dennis Robinson, grandson Dan Robinson, granddaughter Christine Esau, grandson-in-law Russ Esau, sister-in-law Mary Dabner, nieces and nephews; Gene Till, Beth Weger, Bill Graham, Susan Graham, David Dabner, Darlene Bell and Patrick Dabner.

Horace was born in Kent, England and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. Horace and Alma came to B.C. during the depression and settled in Richmond on #2 Road. He was a Mason and Lions Club Member. Horace worked for B.C. Packers for 36 years. During his career with B.C. Packers, he travelled the West Coast, spent a year in Peru and ended his career on the East Coast. Horace retired in 1972 and moved to Bradner with his family. They had a small hobby farm on Myrtle Ave. Horace and Alma joined the Bradner Community Club and worked with them until Alma's death in 1989. Horace did not want a service when he passed away and his wishes will be respected. He wanted everyone to remember him in her/his own way. If anyone has a strong desire to do something in rememberance of Horace, please make a donation to charity in his name.

His remains will be put to rest with Alma in Arcola, Sask. where they met and where they will be together forever. Horace was a kind, generous man who did not stand on ceremony. His long years on this earth will not diminish the deep sense of loss his passing will cause for all those who knew and loved him.
