Herman Klassen passed into the presence of his savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Sherwood Manor after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. Herman was born in Siberia, Russia and at the age of 6 his family fled the country and sailed to Canada. Herman was raised in Saskatchewan but spent his last 60+ years in the Mt. Lehman area.
Herman was predeceased by his wife Helen on January 11, 2000, his parents and 8 brothers and sisters. He is survived by 3 Âsisters Helen Neufeld, Sue Friesen and Mary Schmidt. Also 6 children Arnold, Irma, Richard, Art, Leonard and Rhoda, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Herman enjoyed meeting new friends and socializing at Tim Horton’s. He also worked consistently on his farm on 58th Avenue where he resided until December 27, 2006.
Special thanks from the family for all the medical help Herman received, especially from the workers at Sherwood Manor and Valley Home Support Services.
Viewing will be held Thursday, January 11, 2007 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from Ross Road Community Church, 3160 Ross Road, Abbotsford, BC.
