Herbert Douglas "Bert" peacefully at Mission Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2003, aged 77 years. Predeceased by his parents, his brother Harry and his sisters, Alice, June and Lois.
Bert is survived by Shirley, his loving wife of almost 58 years. He leaves also his sons, Doug and his wife Herly, Jim and his wife Dixie; his daughters, Marlene Schutt and Maureen and her husband Bob Heffelfinger, eight grandchildren, his sister Marjorie, and many loving nieces and nephews. At Bert's request, no formal service will be held, but family and friends will gather to celebrate his life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2003 in the lounge of Regency Park, 3150 Gladwin Road in Abbotsford, B.c.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr's Potter and DeKlerk and the nursing staff for all their tender loving care, and to Homecare nurse Linda Stewart (Dad's angel of care).
