We, the family of Henry Savard, are saddened to announce his passing from this earthly world to his heavenly home on October 17, 2021.
Henry leaves behind Gail, his wife of 54 years and his children; Randy (Aryn) and grandson Aiden; Terina and grandsons Brad, Reid and Jay; Glen (Kristi) and granddaughters Ava
and Karsyn.
He also leaves behind his sister, Patricia; brother Ron (Linda); his long time friend Doug; his remaining living aunt, Rose; his remaining living uncle,Wilfrid; his sister-in-law
Donna; his brother-in-law Wayne; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Henry was born to Patrick & Dorothy Savard on April 24, 1938 in Carvel, Alberta. He graduated from Stony Plain Memorial High school in 1956, then worked in the steel bridge and oil industry while taking accounting courses in the evenings at the University of Alberta.
He received his accounting designation in 1967 as a Registered Industrial Accountant, now known as Chartered Professional Accountant.
In 1967 he married Gail Woodley and soon after moved to Dawson Creek where he became an Accountant for the City. In 1971 they moved to Prince Rupert where all 3 of their children were born. Here he spent many hours fishing for salmon in the ocean and various rivers, while also being an active member of the Rotary Club.
In 1979, the family made the move to southwest British Columbia, where Henry became the Treasurer for the District of Abbotsford. Here he joined the local Rotary Club; was active with his sons' Minor Hockey and the International Bantam Hockey Tournament Committee; became a member of the Abbotsford/Mission Naturalist group; was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and served on many different committees associated with his work.
Henry spent much time with his family he so loved. Hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life were hockey, hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, travelling, and work in service clubs.
Henry now rests in Hazelwood Cemetery in Abbotsford.
