1912 - 2006
Henry passed quietly into the presence of the Lord on July 25, 2006 after a stay in MSA Hospital. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Lena, and their daughter Lydia (Paul) Jenkinson, their son Ronald; and grandchildren Autumn Joy, Dylan, Bernadette, Kirsten, Courtney and Jayda. Henry will also be missed by his two great granddaughters Djambe and Gracie Lee, as well as the Cuc (Daisy) Tran Family who were important in his life.
Henry was born in the Ukraine (Russia then) in 1912 and came to Canada with his family in 1925. He worked very hard at farming, mechanics and carpentry, enjoying it all. Flying was a passion since his childhood and he received his pilot's licence in Winnipeg in the late 40s, buying an airplane and flying in Sask. and BC.
Henry lived in BC from 1959 to the present, was a member of Olivet Mennonite Church and was appreciated for his work when the church expanded in 1980. Henry spent his latter years traveling, building motorhomes and enjoying coffee with "the boys".
He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
Viewing will take place Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 7-8 pm at Emmanuel Mennonite Church. The graveside service will be held at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery, Abbotsford at 12:30 pm, August 2. The memorial service will Âfollow at 1:30 pm at Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, donations to MCC or your favorite charity would be appreciated.
