March 6, 1924 – May 10, 2015

Helen was born in Gnadenheim, Russia. Her family emigrated from Russia to Canada in 1926, first to Manitoba, and then settling in Clair, Sask. Following the depression, the family moved to the Fraser Valley in 1942 where Helen met and married David Neufeld, the love of her life, in 1946. Helen loved children and taught little ones in Sunday school for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing board games with family, and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humour.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, David, daughter Eleanor Schartner (Reg), son Ron (Bettyanne), and daughter Eileen Barnes (David), 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary Schmidt (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Herman and Helena Klassen and 10 brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. Burial took place at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery.If friends so desire, donations to the MCC would be appreciated.
