Helen
tOur mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Oct. 3, 2004 at the MSA Hospital where she had been taken by ambulance from her home at Valhaven. She was tenderly cared for by a loving staff this last year which we, as a family, want to thank.
Helen was born May 17, 1919 living most of her life here in the Fraser Valley as a caring virtuous and indispensable mother, wife and grandma.
This last year has been especially hard, adjustments, health problems and losing two precious children in death. We often heard her desire to go home to heaven. As her family, we “will rise and call her blessed” (Proverbs) and at this time of thanksgiving are especially grateful she could die peacefully and is free from heartache, pain and loneliness, tho we will miss her often.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Andrew Braun who died Oct. 3, 1992. Her children Jacqueline Bartell, Catherine Joyce, Peter Braun and his daughter Valerie, also two sons-in-law.
Left to remember her are her children: Gordon (Jenny), Rosalie (Ron) Schaufert, Carol (Ed) Taylor, Jim (Pamela), Frances (Rennie) Friesen, Ken (Lynda), Patricia (Ron) Braun, Mary Jane (Charlie) Chapman, Vicki (Milton) Janzen, Larry Bartell, and Sally Braun; 47 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at 10:00 am from Church of God in Christ (Mennonite) at the corner of Ross and Downes Rd., Mt. Lehman with minister Bev Toews officiating.
