June 10, 1954 - December 14, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Lynn Swanson on December 14, 2022. She is survived by her only son Len (Lisa), her long-time partner Colin and her 'grand dog' Kohler. She also had many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Heather was born June 10, 1954, in Nokomis Saskatchewan to Art & Olive Schmidt. She was the eldest of 4.
She grew up in Abbotsford, BC. Then later became a Unit Clerk and worked in the Emergency Department at Abbotsford Regional Hospital until she retired when she was 65. The Hospital was like a second family to her, she made many lifelong friends and always enjoyed going to work.
Heather loved Lenny more than anything, he was her 'Treasure'. She loved baking and babysitting Kohler, her 'baby dog'.
She enjoyed gardening, painting, spoiling all the 'Fur Babies' who came into her life and going to the family cabin in Likely BC.
She cherished travelling and spending time with her friends and the ladies from work.
Heather's sense of humor, jokes and resilience in life's trial made her an amazing role model for all that knew her.
'We miss you and love you, Mom. You will always be in our hearts, and we find comfort knowing you are in Heaven.'
Until We meet again.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Heather in the New Year.
The family would like to thank the many Doctors and Nurses, the Dialysis Unit and SNT for all their love and care of 'Mom' over the past 2 years.
In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to the SPCA or Elizabeth's Wildlife Center Society.
