March 25, 1931 - July 12, 2021
Heather Catherine Egilson of Abbotsford passed away at the age of 90 on July 12, 2021 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her children Kirk (Sara), Craig (Olly), Bret, Shona (Marty) grandchildren Tracy, Dean, Shane, Trent, Dyllan, Jade, Tanner, Cody and 10 great grandchildren and preceded by her husband Daniel Christian Egilson, her parents John and Jessie Chinery, an infant son Brent, sister June Nordby and grandson Ryan Egilson.
Heather was born in Vancouver, B.C. on March 25, 1931. She lived in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. In a house that her father built where she loved spending time with her family and friends picnicking and swimming in Lynn Canyon.
Heather first worked at Woodwards and then to Essendale Mental Hospital as a psychiatric nurse. She met her husband Daniel Egilson who worked at Colony Farm as herdsman. Heather was an amazing cook as a stay at home mom who worked hard and sacrificed to ensure that her children's needs and dreams could be met. She was a cub leader for 13 years as well as a long time board member of the Abbotsford Figure Skating Club. Heather became an Avon Agent and then went to work for many years at Wildwood Training Centre.
She lived a full life and enjoyed curling, camping, wine making, traveling the world but especially having her whole family together at her house during the holiday season.
Heather will lovingly be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother with great sense of humor who was always joking around with her children, in-laws, grandchildren and friends.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
