VANDER-HOEK; Harry

July 26, 1927 ~ May 3, 2015


Harry was born on a farm in Abbotsford. He met and married Audrey Evans of the Mt. Lehman area in 1952 and served in the RCN for 25 years as a Chief Petty Officer. In 1973 Harry and Audrey moved back to Abbotsford where he worked at Empress Foods, Brookside Egg Plant, at Sevenoaks Mall as Operations Manager and the Matsqui Institute. Harry retired in 1988 and enjoyed woodwork, gardening, camping, fishing and wintering in Arizona. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey (of almost 63 years); three children June (Bob) Alspaugh, Stu (Sheila) and Wayne (Colleen); 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers Ted, George and Dick, sisters Jen, Nellie, Leona and Cora and other family members and friends. Harry was predeceased by his parents Angela (Bos) and John; sisters Toots and Martha (Jackie) and eldest brother Peter. There will be no service at the family's request.
