Harry Oscar Schmidt passed away September 12, 2024 at Mt. Ida Mews long term care community, in Salmon Arm, B.C.
He was predeceased by his parents, Olga and Gustav Schmidt, 5 brothers and 6 sisters. He is survived by his sister Elsie.
Harry was born October 12, 1932 on a family farm in Saskatchewan. He left to work in Calgary and Edmonton, where he met and married his wife Marlene.
They lived in Edmonton, Nelson and in Abbotsford for 50 years. They raised 4 children, Cordell (Heidi), Cara (Steve), Lisa (Todd), and Krista (Alan). They had 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Harry was active in his community of Abbotsford, serving on city council, Chamber of Commerce and was a charter member of the Clearbrook Kiwanis Club. He was generous to his community, friends and family.

A private family gathering to remember him will be held on November 2, 2024, in Salmon Arm.
