HEINE, Hans John
Hans John Heine passed away peacefully at the age of 83 at Menno Home Intermediate Care in Abbotsford B.C. the evening of July 30, 2009 where he resided the past three years. Hans was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta on March 3, 1926. His parents were immigrants from Germany. Hans is survived by his daughter Sherri Gail Heine of Victoria and grand kids Adam and Cierra; his son David Gregory Heine of Squamish and his grand kids Carmen, Christopher and Rosalynn; his granddaughter Michelle Heine of Alberta (daughter of Daniel Hans Heine); brother Herbert Heine, sister Verna; and many nieces and nephews across Canada. Hans was predeceased by his son Daniel Hans Heine, brother Harry Heine, sister Dorothy Heine, his parents Frieda and Bernard Heine, his first wife Marguerite Heine and his second wife Heather Heine. Cremation will take place, and in lieu of a service please raise a glass of rum and toast the old fisherman, now gone to the big fishing ground in the sky, to forever cast a line. Hans was a creative "jack of all trades" not afraid to try his hand at anything. He was a grain buyer in Alberta, ran a movie theatre, produced an independent newspaper, a moose hunter, built fishing boats, was a commercial fisherman, accomplished graphic artist in advertising, oil painter on canvas, harmonica player, draftsman, gardener, manager of an apartment block, could cook a wonderful meal, and a square dancer extraordinaire. He served at the end of the Second World War in the administrative offices in Kingston Ontario. Many thanks to the wonderful caring staff at Menno Home, Rick his companion from We Care, and Doctor Egolf for taking such good care of our Dad. Namaste
