DEOL Gurbachan Singh. Nov. 16, 1912 ~ Aug. 4, 2012. Gurbachan Singh Deol took his last breath with family by his side on Saturday August 4th, 2012. Born in Boparai Kalan, India, to the late Kartar Singh and late Harnam Kaur, he was blessed to have seven children with his late wife Ranjit Kaur. He will be dearly missed by his two brothers Raghvir Singh and Gurnam Singh, children Mohinder Kaur Brar (Jagtar), Harjinder Kaur Brar (late Gurdeep), Gurjit Kaur Brar (Balbir), Iqbal Singh (Tarlochan), Jasvir Kaur Alamwala (late Jesse), Jagtar Singh (Jagdish), Sukhraj Singh (Navreet). Gurbachan Singh immigrated to Canada in 1978 and began farming in Abbotsford. He farmed all the way up to his retirement in 1994 and spent the rest of his life enjoying his 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Gurbachan was known for his calm demeanour, kindness and genuine love of family and friends. In his eventful life he touched the lives of many and will always live in our hearts and fond memories. Funeral services will be held in his honour on Saturday August 11, 2012 at Woodlawn Funeral Home 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford. Service will commence at 2:00 pm. Prayer service will follow at the Khalsa Diwan Society 33094 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford at 4:00 pm.
