BRUHN, Guenther. April 13, 1933 ~ July 4, 2013. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guenther Bruhn. He is survived by his wife Christa, his brother, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends both in Canada and Germany.
Guenther was born in Hamburg, Germany and worked at the German railroad before immigrating with his wife Christa to Canada in 1957. He was a successful businessman in Maple Ridge. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Abbotsford where Guenther was the president of the Abbotsford/Mission Alpen club for many years. Guenther and Christa have been married for 56 years. In 2002 Christa gave Guenther one of her kidneys, which allowed them many more years of travelling in their motorhome and abroad. One of Guenther's passions was fishing with his friends at his favorite fishing spot Greeny Lake. He will always have a special place in our hearts and we will remember him with great fondness.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made to the BC Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
