Gretha Schaap of Abbotsford, BC, peacefully passed away on January 28th, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Leo Schaap in May of 2019. She is survived by sons William (Lee), and Richard (Carol), five grandchildren; Daniel (Candice), William (Julie), Laura (Jared), Amanda (Brian) and Ryan (Amanda), and three great grandchildren; Jillian, Makayla and Kyia.
Gretha was born May 2, 1931 in Zaandam, Holland. She was a survivor of WW2 and immigrated to Canada to follow her love Leo in 1953. They were married in October of 1954 and in August of 1955 had son William and in January of 1959 had New Year's baby of Abbotsford, Richard.
She led a full life as a stay-at-home mom not only looking after her sons but also their small hobby farm. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruising but most of all enjoyed her family. She will be deeply missed by family and friends in both Canada and Holland.
