Graham Paul Martin

March 29, 1956 ~ April 29, 2017

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father at his home. He will be ever remembered and greatly missed by his beloved and loving wife, Wendy, his cherished and devoted children, Christopher (Vanessa), Jordan (Lindsay), Ashley (Shawn Camp), and his five adoring grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Isaac, Evelyn, and Grayson. He is survived by Wendy’s parents Dan and Elaine Gibson, his brother Murray, sisters Lois (George Gray), Sharon (John Sutherland) and Esther (David Robins) as well as Wendy’s five siblings, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Jacob and Marjorie Martin of Ottawa. Graham was born, married, and raised his young children in Ottawa before moving to Abbotsford BC in 1992. He never lost his love for Canadian history and Canada’s capital city. He’d planned to be with Wendy and Ottawa friends on Parliament Hill on July 1st for Canada’s 150th birthday. His early career was in the family business, Scripture Bookstore of Ottawa, which he eventually owned and managed. For many years he has worked at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital where his commitment, high work ethic, congeniality, and concern for others’ welfare led to his being chosen as a union steward. Graham had many skills and interests. He followed current events and politics, loved reading, gardened with Wendy on their pristine property, was a first-rate handyman, and was his sons’ and grandsons’ most ardent hockey fan. His life was his family. He loved God and lived faithfully as a follower of Jesus Christ. He was a kind and gentle man who asked neither for attention or praise. A celebration of Graham’s life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Northview Community Church, 32040 Downes Road, Abbotsford. We are grateful to all who have flooded us with love at this time. In memory of Graham donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

“To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God.” Psalm 25:1
