ELLWOOD, Gordon

In loving memory of Gordon Ellwood, February 17,1919 - October 7, 2009.

Gordon lived his entire life in Abbotsford on the property on Old Yale Rd. which was homesteaded by his father in 1889. At the age of 17 he met the love of his life, Ruth, to whom he was married for 65 years.

Gordon was predeceased by his wife and best friend, Ruth and survived by children Lynne (Terry) Feser, Dennis (Barbara) Ellwood, Allan Ellwood and Janice Macdonald. He is also survived by grandchildren Tricia, Tori, Tarl, Janal, Kevin, Laura, Tyler and Gillian and four great-grandchildren.

Gord served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II. He worked as a feed salesman and farmed the homestead until his retirement when he and Ruth took time to travel, collect vintage Fords, and cheer for any opponent of the Vancouver Canucks. Gordon was a long time member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and a member of the Canadian Legion for fifty-two years. He will always be remembered for his keen sense of humour and willingness to help family and friends. We love you, Dad. You looked darn good for 90!

A Graveside Service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery at 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at The Rancho (35110 Delair Rd) at 2:30pm on Thursday, October 15, 2009.
