OLIPHANT; Gertrude Maria

Gertrude was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and grew up in the nearby town of Irvine. She was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Maria Wiedeman, her husband, James Cecil Oliphant and her two brothers, Hans (Joyce) and Richard (Rose). She is survived by her children; Carol Marie Fisher (Doug), Janet Lucille Gates (Cormack) and John Stephen Oliphant, grandchildren; Skya Richardson (Ray), Sydney Harper (Barret), Daniel Gates, Matthew Gates and great-granddaughter Leilani Richardson. She became a teacher and taught in Irvine and in the Catholic Schools in St. Albert, Alberta. After retiring, she and James moved to Abbotsford, BC where they golfed and wintered in Palm Springs. She golfed and volunteered at the Hospital Gift Shop until she was ninety years of age. No service by request.
