Gerry (Gerrit) Snel of Abbotsford, B.C., was promoted to glory to be with his Lord on March 25, 2003, at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Janny in 1976 and his daughter Gerda Nunweiler-Cornish in 1990.
He is survived by his children; John (Nell) Snel of Abbotsford; Anne (Graham) Kent of Nambour, Australia; Herman (Simone) Snel of Surrey; Nellie (Wayne) Ball of Burnaby; Angie (Dick) Selles of Summerland; Gary (Linda) Snel of Pitt Meadows; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters in The Netherlands.
Gerry, Janny and their 7 children immigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled in Vancouver. A private burial was held on March 27 at Hazelwood Cemetery followed by a memorial service celebrating Gerry's life at Living Hope Christain Reformed Church, on Old Clayburn Road, Abbotsford.
