It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gerry. He went to be with the Lord very peacefully in his sleep on August 4th at the age of 80 years. He leaves behind to mourn, his wife Ida, the love of his life for 59 years; five children, Gerald, Ray (Marge), Bill, Ruth & Marlene (Jon), twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and sister Louise. He was born in Lesobuda, Ukraine where he lived until age 13 when the family moved to Germany. In 1948 he immigrated to Canada with his mother and sister and settled in Vancouver. He married in 1951, remained in Vancouver until 1976 when they moved to Maple Ridge. He will be very much missed by every one. A celebration of his life will be held August 14th at Wildwood Fellowship Church, 10810-272nd St., Maple Ridge at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Gideons International.
