With heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Gerald, who lost his brave battle with cancer surrounded by family.
Predeceased by his parents, Doug and Betty Smith, and his brother Kevin; Gerald is survived by daughter Elodie, sisters Janette (Allan) Johnson, Patty (Ken) Catlin, Leigh (Al) Fadden, brother Joe (Sandy) Smith, sister-in-law Tracey Smith, his girlfriend Linda Kavanagh, aunts Connie Kaufmann, Ruth Smith; and numerous extended family members.
Gerald was born, raised and worked in the Fraser Valley. He moved to San Diego, CA for 17 years before returning to Abbotsford in 2018 to continue his work in the construction industry.
Gerald worked hard and played hard. He loved participating in hockey, slow pitch, hunting, golf, side-by-siding, and outings to casinos. Family and friends were very important to Gerald.
A Celebration of Life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's name to the charity of your choice.
