SWEREDA, George
Passed away December 19, 2009 in Mission Memorial Hospital. Born August 2, 1928 in Marco Manitoba, he was named after King George V as he visited Manitoba that year. George was a musician and played at many weddings, dance halls, legions, and private parties with his late father John Swereda, brothers Stanley and Michael, and also many bands. George also taught many people to play different instruments. George and his late wife lived in Abbotsford BC, along with his brother Joseph. George worked for BC Hydro Railway tracks for many years. Left to mourn are his sisters Ann Wasyluk & family of Mission BC, and Nellie Stone & family, also of Mission BC, Stella Allum & son Earl of Neepawa Manitoba, Helen Reid (R.N.) & family of Victoria BC; as well as many nieces and nephews. He had many friends that loved him. He had a grave side funeral and was buried by his wife Pauline at Hazelwood Cemetery in Abbotsford BC. Reverend Danny Griffit was pastor. Lunch was served at sister Nellie Stone's home in Mission. Thank you to all that helped.
