1922 - 2008

Born in Elbow, Saskatchewan, November 3, 1922 passed away peacefully January 29, 2008 at the age of 85, at Grand Street Lodge, Mission, B.C.

George was always a gentleman, kind and gentle, putting others ahead of himself.


Raised in Elbow, George joined the RCAF in 1941 and a year later the RCMP, he was stationed in The Yukon and Manitoba. No matter where he was he got involved in the community, especially with the Legion, curling and hockey. He retired from the RCMP in 1962 and moved to B.C. to work with the Liquor Control Board. He started in Maple Ridge and ended up with his own store in Kaslo, B.C. He and Jean retired to Abbotsford in 1983 moving to Mission to live with Mary-Ellen and Gary in 1994.

He was predeceased by his wife Jean in 2003 and is survived by his loving daughters, Lynn (Ron), Mary-Ellen (Gary), 4 grandchildren Michelle (Jason), Corry (Rafi), Reg (Raya), Debra (Rod) and 5 great grandchildren, Cody, Ryan, Baillie, Aidan, Rebecca and Keihen.

The family wishes to extend their special thanks to the staff of Grand Street Lodge for their wonderful care of dad.
