George Smith Alexander passed away peacefully at Mission Memorial Hospital, December 31, 2003. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and grandson Rick.
George was born in Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland and came to Canada in 1927. He worked in Edmonton, met and married Violet in 1928. In 1947 the family moved to Mission where George worked at Spencers Department Store (which became Eaton's in 1948), where he worked until retirement in 1970.
George had a lifetime love for the game of golf. He is surviveed by his loving wife of 75 years, Violet, sons Robert (Mary Lou), Hamilton (Doreen), George (Wilma), James and Bruce, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His family wish to thank Dr. Johnson, the nurses on the second floor at Mission Memorial Hospital and the Homecare Workers for their care, kindness and compassion during Dad's final days.
A Memorial service was held January 5th at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Robin Ross presiding.
