George Albert MARR

George Albert passed away peacefully in Abbotsford on September 5, 2007 at the age of 92. Predeceased by his daughter Rhonda; brothers Lester, Gordon, Roy, Bud and Ken as well as his sister Norma Jean. He is survived by his loving wife, of 62 years, Florence, son Rod, daughter-in-law Hope and three grandchildren Candra (Steve), Drew (Shannon) and Darcy, as well as his sister Florence Peterson and numerous nieces and nephews in Alberta.

Deeply committed to his family and quietly active in the community, Al will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and caring. Al was a charter member of the MSA Golden Kiwanis, actively involved with Eagles Club and spent countless hours volunteering in the community until a stroke, suffered in 1995, made it impossible to do so. He passed on his strong family values and love of nature, gardening and the outdoors to his entire family. His mischievous wit and the twinkle in his eye will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.

The family is extremely grateful to the staff at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford where Al spent his last five years. We know that Al will be happily gardening away in heaven, making sure the lawn is perfect and the roses prolific for everyone to enjoy.

In lieu of flowers, Al requested that donations to your favourite charity would best serve his memory. Also at his request there will be no public funeral service.
