BRUNNER - Frieda (Wieler) nee Redekop

May 15, 1920 ~ Feb. 27, 2013. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing away of Frieda, a former resident of Abbotsford. During her residence in Abbotsford in the late 1940s, the 1950s and the early 1960s, she was very active in the community, especially in the Central Heights Church where her husband, Rev. Abraham Wieler, served as Lead Pastor for several years. She was also greatly involved with what is now Columbia Bible College where her husband lectured for 14 years, from 1945 until 1959. During the last four years he also served as principal of the school.

Predeceased by her husband, Abraham, by her three sons, Dennis, Gerald and Stanley, by granddaughters Stacey and Michelle, and by her brother Ernest, Frieda leaves to mourn her second husband, Fred Brunner, her daughter Karen and Karen’s partner Rob Kenzie, as well as her four sisters and brothers: Clara Anderson, Portland, Oregon; Paul Redekop, Abbotsford; Sophie (Neil) Toews, Kamloops; and John (Doris), Abbotsford. She is also remembered fondly by nine surviving grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The memorial service for Frieda Brunner took place on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the New Hope Church, formerly the Kennedy Heights Mennonite Brethren Church in Delta, BC.
