Fred died peacefully in Cranbrook Regional Hospital, Cranbrook, BC.
Born in Huntsville, Ontario, Fred moved west with his family in 1922 and brought his family to BC in 1955 then spent many years as the owner/operator of Dewdney General Store and Post Office. Fred enjoyed his years of retirement and has travelled through much of Canada enjoying the diversity, rich history and spectacular vistas.
A proud veteran, he was a volunteer member of North Fraser Fire Department, the Lions Club and was a Regional Director for the Dewdney Alouette Regional District.
Fred will be sadly missed by his loving wife Irene of Cranbrook and his five sons: Bill (Grace) of Nanaimo, Ed (Deb) of Cranbrook, Norman (Linda) of Ladysmith, Brian (Bev) of Mission and Bruce (Gail) of Pleasanton, California and his daughter Judy (Henk) of Ucluelet as well as his 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
